A week to train, learn and enjoy the sea

This camp was created to offer a complete experience for open water swimmers: technique, training, safety, community and discovery of the island.

It is not just about swimming. It is about understanding the sea better, learning how to orient yourself, improving your efficiency in the water, sharing sessions with other swimmers and enjoying Ibiza at an ideal time of year for swimming.

The programme takes place just after OCEANMAN Ibiza and before IbiziOWS, making it the perfect opportunity to extend your stay on the island, combine events and enjoy a true open water swimming week.

Is this camp for you?

  • You want to improve your technique in the pool and in open water.
  • You already have a minimum swimming base.
  • You can swim 2,000 m continuously in the pool.
  • You can maintain sustained paces under 2:15/100 m.
  • You want to gain safety, orientation skills and confidence in the sea.
  • You want to combine training, community and the Ibiza experience.

Languages

The camp will be held in Spanish and English.

The organization will be able to adapt explanations, briefings and talks so that participants can follow the experience properly in both languages.

Recommended level

The camp is aimed at swimmers with enough autonomy to train in both the pool and open water.
As a reference, we recommend that participants are able to swim 2,000 m continuously in the pool and have basic experience in open water or, at least, feel comfortable swimming in the sea.

Competitive experience or a specific race pace is not required, but participants should have a minimum swimming base that allows them to complete the training sessions independently.

Technical direction

José Juan Aranda “Joju” · Creator of BeWaterTraining

The technical direction of the camp will be led by José Juan Aranda “Joju”, creator of BeWaterTraining, a brand specialized in swimming training, triathlon and technical improvement in the water.

BeWaterTraining was created with a clear philosophy: to help swimmers and triathletes improve the way they swim, become more efficient in the water and enjoy the training process more.

Its methodology combines technique, efficiency, adaptation to the aquatic environment and a practical approach to learning, both in the pool and in open water.

Joju has extensive experience as a swimmer, coach and educator. During the camp, he will lead the pool sessions, open water training, video analysis, technical talks and personalized advice to help each participant improve their technique, confidence and safety in the sea.

The combination of Swim Wanderer, as a local organizer specialized in open water swimming experiences in Ibiza, and BeWaterTraining, as a technical reference in swimming training, makes this camp a complete experience: sport, learning, sea, community and discovery of the island.
